VI All-Russian Festival of artistic creativity of small Finno-Ugric and Samoyedic peoples

The VI All-Russian Festival of artistic creativity of small Finno-Ugric and Samoyedic peoples was held in Vyborg from 18 to 20 September. The festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary this September. The festival was attended by groups from Udmurtia, Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Murmansk, Pskov regions and others.

The conference “Actual aspects in the preservation and development of the cultural heritage of small-numbered peoples of Russia” was held as a part of the festival. Tatyana Aleksandrovna Dyatlova, Head of the Finno-Ugric Sector at Yugra State University; AFUU Coordinator, made a presentation on the activities of the Association for the development of Finno-Ugric direction among youth. Within the framework of creative laboratories, the festival participants got acquainted with traditional folk games, songs and dances. The priority of the All-Russian festival of small Finno-Ugric and Samoyed peoples was the scientific and discussion program.

The festival was organized by the Finno-Ugric Cultural Center of the Russian Federation and the "House of Folk Art" of the State Budgetary Institution of Culture of Leningrad Region with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Leningrad Region Committee for Culture and the Russian National House of Folk Art`s and Amateur Creativity named after V.D. Polenov (Moscow).
