International Youth Festival "Finno-Ugric Spring 2019"

International Youth Festival "Finno-Ugric Spring 2019" is held in Khanty-Mansiysk with the support of the Government of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra

International Youth Festival "Finno-Ugric Spring 2019" includes:

• VIII International Competition among students of HEIs, members of the Association of Finno-Ugric Universities "Miss Student of Finno-Ugria - 2019"
• All-Russian Youth Forum "Finno-Ugric Meetings in Yugra"

During the Festival, best practices in the field of preservation, development and popularization of languages, traditional culture, and folk art crafts of Finno-Ugric peoples are shared. The Festival aims to unite the cultural diversity of Finno-Ugric peoples through a wide range of events: master classes, exhibitions, educational platforms for residents of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug-Yugra.

Carrying out activities to preserve and revive cultural traditions of the Finno-Ugric peoples increase the attractiveness of Autonomous Okrug, its position at national and international levels, as well as strengthen international communication, increase the interest of young people to the study of national traditions, customs, culture, languages of  Finno-Ugric peoples.

FESTIVAL PROGRAM

All-Russian Youth Forum "Finno-Ugric Meetings in Yugra"

All-Russian Youth Forum "Finno-Ugric Meetings in Yugra" is aimed at the development, expansion and popularization of languages, traditional culture, art crafts of Finno-Ugric peoples. 

Forum directions:

  • Education and science issues;

  • Information technology and media in ethnic environment;

  • Finno-Ugric peoples art crafts preservation.

Youth Forum will provide the demonstration of best practices among youth projects.

Forum platforms: 

"Cultural heritage" - problem solving of socio-economic and cultural development of Finno-Ugric youth.

“Territory of information” – prevention of language, culture and traditional way of life among young people.

"Youth – the future of the Russian North"- issues on mutual cooperation, exchange of experience in the field of popularization of folk traditions and formation of partnerships based on folk culture.


International competition "Miss Student of Finno-Ugria" 

International competition among students of HEIs, members of the Association of Finno-Ugric Universities "Miss Student of Finno-Ugria", is one of the forms of cooperation for young people from Finno-Ugric regions and countries: the Republics of Karelia, Komi, Mari El, Mordovia, Tatarstan, Udmurtia, Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra. The competition is attended by representatives of the Association of Finno-Ugric Universities (AFUU), which includes:

  • Mari State University ;

  • N. P. Ogarev's Mordovia State University;

  • Petrozavodsk State University;

  • Pitirim Sorokin Syktyvkar State University;

  • Udmurt State University;

  • Yugra State University;

  • Komi Republican Academy of State Service and Administration;

  • Glazov State Pedagogical Institute named after V.G. Korolenko.

The main purpose of the International Competition – is to develop, expand and strengthen cultural and friendly relations between students of the Association of Finno-Ugric Universities, to preserve and enhance traditions of finno-ugric peoples. The competition is held to exchange experience, coordinate and organize joint work of the Association's universities in the field of cultural and educational activities.

Within the competition, joint work in planned in many areas:

  • formation of  interethnic communication culture, interest in studying national traditions, customs, culture of Finno-Ugric peoples and development of patriotic feelings (to the native land, republic, city, etc.) among students;

  • development of intellectual and creative potential and improvement of spiritual and moral culture of university students;

  • aesthetic and spiritual education of young generation, promoting the harmonious development of the individual, creating conditions for the realization of creative potential, searching and comprehensive support for new names in the field of traditional culture of  Finno-Ugric peoples;

  • dentification and support of talented youth, involvement of students to active forms of educational activities, development of university traditions;

  • development of interaction and cooperation between students and universities - Association members;

  • support to creative initiatives to promote the culture and traditions of the Finno-Ugric peoples.

Tsykarev Aleksey Vasilievich – Chair of the Center for Support of Indigenous Peoples and Civic Diplomacy “Young Karelia”, Member of the Expert Mechanism on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (EMRIP) in 2013-2019, Member of the UNESCO Steering Group for the preparation and implementation of the International Year of Indigenous Languages.

5. Zhuravlev Viktor Mikhailovich - Editor-in-chief of  Finno-Ugric and thematic programs of the Public TV and Radio Corporation «Ugra».
